Weirdly enough i thought it did.

Turns out light from windows does travel down floors but only if there s not a roof on top of that wall. As long as there s just a ceiling flat roof the light travels up and down without a problem. It brings up the game launcher but once i press play nothing happens. Dormer windows allow natural light in from the sides as well.
