We have an installation to install on a flat roof constructed of stramit board. We manufacture a wide range of profiles to suit all types of projects from houses and home improvements through to large scale commercial and industrial developments. Stramit is produced by a patented process of heat and pressure that utilises the resinous substances within the straw. This boarding is approx 250mm thick so coach screws through to the wooden joists are out of the question i was thinking of resin fixing but thought i would ask opinions and see if anyone has any experience.

The commercial success of stramit as an alternative partition material to gypsum board eg 300 000 houses in the uk resulted in its being awarded a british standard bs 4046 compressed strawboard. It has been used as a roofing material probably installed about 20 30 years ago. Construction straw board stramit board repeated lines have been removed. This is basicly straw board with a thin layer of concreate on top then covered in the felt and tar.

Stramit s got you covered with roofing and wall cladding for any architectural style or application. Stramit boards in flat roofs are classed as deleterious materials because they lose their structural capacity after becoming wet. This deterioration is not reversible. Interstitial condensation leaks through flat roofs causing the paper to deteriorate and the resins to break down.
